Dear Friends, Fans, Lovers, etc,

Tonight we have to cancel another show in San Diego, CA. It’s been 24 hours since my ENT doctor visit yesterday but, sadly, I haven’t seen the improvement I need to see before I try to sing another show.

One of the more difficult things to hear from the doctor yesterday was when he told me that the odds of this happening again in the next two weeks are “pretty likely”. I can’t risk putting myself back where I started, so in effort to save my voice I have spent nearly the last 94 hours almost completely mute, getting by on pointing, nodding, gesticulating in ridiculous ways and when needed, typing things out on my phone, trying to do anything I can to save my voice. It’s been tedious and frustrating, but I won’t hesitate to do anything I can to get my voice back on track for this tour, and to ensure that RRR can keep coming back in the future to see all of our friends and fans that we’ve missed this week.

Tomorrow morning I have another ENT appointment, at which point I will get some sort of assessment of my progress and make a call about the rest of the week. I’m very hopeful that tomorrow’s show and the rest of the week can continue as planned.

I also want to thank everyone for their positive vibes/responses yesterday. It’s wonderful to have that, and it is without a doubt a huge motivator to get better. And, of course, be sure to check out Delicate Steve and Yellow Ostrich tonight, who will still be playing!
